We are Ironwood Bands!

We are honored to have you interested in joining our band and becoming the future of Ironwood! We firmly believe that the pairing of band at Ironwood with any other curriculum or extracurricular activity creates strong leaders. Below is information on how to get started.
"When your child finds their place, makes lifelong friends, grows in skill, knowledge, talent and confidence, and loves their high school years because of their experiences....you know band was a great life choice!" ~ Ironwood Band Mom
"I continued to stay in band because of the community that was created and how it feels like a second family."  ~ Ironwood Senior
"Band is like a family, and just a great experience. I went into band camp my first year and left with friends I still have in junior year." ~ Ironwood Junior

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you do sports and band?
  • Absolutely, yes you can! In the fall season we had over 20 students on football, swim, badminton, and volleyball. Our coaches and music department coordinate to make sure students are able to participate in all aspects of our school.
What if I can’t afford band?
  • We keep our costs to a minimum to ensure all of our students have the opportunity to be in band. If finances are a concern, please contact Mr. Acevedo and ask about receiving a band scholarship.
What if I don’t want to do band until my sophomore year?
  • The majority of students that say “I’ll join band my sophomore year” never actually join their sophomore year. If you’re on the fence about band, take the chance and try it. I’ve never met a student on the fence who regretted joining band. In fact the students on the fence tend to be the students that have the best experiences and become great leaders for our band.
What if I get my schedule and band isn’t on it?
  • It is never too late to join the band. If band isn’t on your schedule, please let Mr. Acevedo and the counseling department know so we can get it fixed.
